How to Play
These are the confirmed rules YuhTurn will follow. Anything not covered here is still unresolved.
Set Up the Game
- Use exactly four positions: Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, and Player 4.
- Players 1 and 3 are partners. Players 2 and 4 are partners.
- Play moves clockwise from Player 1 through Player 4.
- Use a standard 52-card deck. Ace is high.
- The first team to win seven tricks wins the game.
- Play stops as soon as a team wins its seventh trick.
- Show all remaining hands at the end of the game.
Call Trump
- The host chooses the first player who will call trump.
- Give the caller the first five cards.
- The caller chooses one of the four suits as trump.
- Deal the remaining cards after trump is chosen.
- The player who personally wins the seventh and game-winning trick becomes the trump caller for the next game.
Play a Card
- Follow the suit that was led when you have a card in that suit.
- If you cannot follow suit, you may play a trump card to cut.
- You may instead discard another non-trump card. This is commonly called walking aside.
- If one or more trump cards are played, the highest trump card wins the trick.
- If no trump card is played, the highest card in the suit that was led wins the trick.
- The player who wins a trick leads the next trick.
- Riding your partner is a strategy. It is not an extra card-legality rule.
Communicate Fairly
- There is no active-game chat.
- Players cannot reveal their cards during the game.
- Spectators cannot affect gameplay.
Use the Timers
- Call trump
- 60 seconds
- Play a card
- 45 seconds
- Reconnect
- 90 seconds
- Answer a rematch
- 30 seconds
- Start the next game
- 60 seconds
When time runs out
- Multiplayer timers will be controlled by the server.
- Refreshing or reconnecting will not reset a timer.
- If the trump-call timer expires, the computer strategy chooses the caller’s strongest suit.
- If the card-play timer expires, the computer strategy plays a legal card.
- The first missed action lets the computer act for that turn.
- Repeated missed actions may turn on automatic play.
- A disconnected player gets a visible reconnect countdown.
- When reconnect time expires, a computer takes over the seat.
- A returning player may reclaim the seat after the current trick finishes.
Leave Unresolved Rules Unresolved
Every rule not stated on this page is unresolved. YuhTurn will confirm it before implementation instead of borrowing a rule from Court Piece, Rang, Troefcall, Whist, or another regional game.
